Name: Marcellus Earlington
Team: Don Bosco Prep
Year: Senior
Stats: 16 points per game
Accolades: 1st Team All-State in 2017.
Projection: All-State Selection
The Why: Earlington played like a man possessed in 2017. The crafty big averaged 16 points per game, leading the Ironmen in scoring last year.
The 6-5 Forward’s value to Don Bosco is sky high. Very few frontcourt players possess the skills that Earlington displays on a nightly basis. In regards to rebounding, ME is dominant on the glass. His big frame and high motor allows him to snarl down countless rebounds with ease. On offense, he’s a matchup nightmare. While many traditional frontcourt players do their damage on the block, Earlington is extremely dangerous off the bounce from the wing and high post.
When it’s all said and done, “Big Baby” has what it takes to win NJ Player of the Year. Will Earlington play college football and basketball on the next level? Only time will tell.
Stat to know: Earlington has scholarship offers from the University of North Carolina for both football & basketball. He made the list of Top 100 HS athletes of the 2016-17 school year in New Jersey.
