For many, music is a push factor against the demons of anxiety and nervousness before a competition. For others, a pre-game playlist is a "Secret sauce" used to stir up and release whatever is channeled within them in an effort to lead their team to victory.
Below is a interview series called "Gameday Playlist Vibes," which feature must-play pre-game songs from rising basketball stars in New Jersey. Next up is St. John Vianney forward Brelynn Bellamy. The versatile front court player has been sensational this season. One of the biggest highlights of the year was Bellamy's buzzer beating shot to beat St. Rose in the Shore County Tournament. Enjoy the jams from the Lady Lancer below.

Thoughts on the bus: Most athletes can agree that pregame rituals are super important on game day. For many, including myself, music is a crucial part of this ritual. Especially on game days during the week, I get rid of any distractions and focus on the task at hand which is making an impact in the game ahead. Music helps me significantly with doing this. During away games, the bus rides are silent up until the end because everyone has their headphones in. I sit in the back so I can focus, listen to my pregame playlist, and really get into another mode.
Migos - Walk It Talk It
I like to listen to this song before games because not only does it get me hype, but it’s about backing up what you say. I strongly believe that actions speak louder than words and this song embodies that for me.
Meek Mill - Dreams and Nightmares
This is our team song. We listen to this before every game and once the beat drops, we all know it’s game time and it puts us into a more focused mindset.
Kodak Black (feat. Offset) - Built My Legacy
I like to listen to this song before big games because it reminds me of what my goal is. All of the hard work that I put in is so that I can build my legacy and leave my mark. The song gives me energy and helps me bring that on to the court.
Migos - Stir Fry
Stir Fry is one of my team’s favorite songs to listen to right before a game. It’s upbeat and catchy and gets the whole team lit.
