Team analysis: The Argonauts were young, but showed a lot of promise in 2017.
Rutgers Prep cut their teeth with a rigorous schedule consisting of Seton Hall, St.Peter's Prep, Gil St. Bernards, St. Mary’s Elizabeth and more. In 2018, The Somerset team will reap a fruitful harvest from last years work, as they will be more poised in hostile environments. Rutgers have two key players returning in Nahshon Battle and Jonah Charles. The team has also added diaper dandy freshman Trey Patterson. The sensational athlete has the potential to be NJ Freshmen of the Year if he performs up to his potential.
If The Prep plays at a quicker tempo this year, many teams will struggle to match up with them in transition. The Non Public South Jersey B section has lost a handful of teams due to playoff realignment by the state. Look for Rutgers Prep to be the biggest contenders to Ranney and Mater Dei come tourney time.
Stat to know: Rutgers Prep was listed last year as one of the top 50 teams in the state by NJ.Com.
